The staff was very courteous and tried to be as helpful as possible. The rental was beautiful, although there were some things that were not revealed to us about the rental property until we got there (for instance, we weren't allowed to lower the thermostat below 72 or we would be charged extra- even though we were paying nearly $700 per night in the off season). In general, though, everything was as I expected from past rental experiences through other companies. Good vacation rental at a not-too-bad price.
We Spent Labor Day weekend 2017 at the EBB and Flow home on Spooky Lane in Santa Rosa Beach. We had two families in this nice large beachfront house. The property was nice but HOT. The owners had locked out the Air Conditioning at 70 on the first floor thermostat. The third floor thermostat was also locked out at 68. Unfortunately, as the Florida day progresses the third floor became intolerable with a temperature of 81 degrees despite having the curtain drawn and all doors and windows closed. The second floor was better but with no thermostat I would suspect mid 70's. The basement is not a conditioned space and was stifling. The entire HVAC system at this home is inadequate. We are from Alabama and used to the heat - But I did have expectation of air conditioning.
Fantastic vacation from start to finish. The house was amazing, clean, and in a quiet neighborhood. My family and I will be staying at the same home, each time we visit Florida. The only problem was that the volume didn't turn up on the living room tv. Other than that, our girls trip was 5 stars. Great job Royal Destinations, and thank you for making your vacation homes so beautiful and affordable!
I enjoyed the location and the building. However, I would recommend avoiding this property in the Spring or Summer. It's TOO HOT INSIDE.
Needless to say we were uncomfortable. Previous reviewers had noted this as well but I thought the problem was fixed. Ashley at Royal Destinations was promptly available and communicated our troubles with the owners. Unfortunately, their response was they were unwilling to allow us to change the thermostat and just to make the best of it.
We had a wonderful week at A Serene Harbor! The layout provided privacy, but perfect for our whole family. We loved sitting on the upper decks at night, biking and swimming in the pool. We made use of the grill, getting fresh seafood just up the road at Buddy's. beach access was easy to get to, and the umbrella service helped minimize the load we carried down. The finishes in the house were updated and really nice, we would love to come back in the future!
Beautiful beach. We've been to Watersound many times, it never disappoints. The place was clean and comfortable, the management was very friendly and helpful.
