Mediocre at best. The sales person was misleading as were the online photos. I was under the assumption that the condo is close to the beach. However, you will have to cross a busy 30A to get to the beach. Also, all of the shops are all a few miles away. This location is great for f you are on a budget, but I wasn't. If the sales person had been honest, I would have spent more for a better location. Do your research and consider other rental agencies.
We rented a cute 4 bedroom/4 bath on the beach for 1 week. Very expensive but comparable to other beach houses in the area. VRBO and Air BNB are far superior. The first thing you don't want to do when you get here is go grocery shopping. Only thing there was 1 roll of Toilet paper & little hotel bars of soap. No cleaning supplies/paper towels/Dish soap/shampoo/salt & pepper or coffee. Also the pool heater is disabled 9 months out of the year. At more than $1,200 a day with no room service, I expected a bit more.
Our family had such a wonderful time staying in Hasty Retreat. Amazing views of Eastern Lake with a beautiful partial view of the Gulf from the open floor plan living/dining/kitchen area, upper deck, lower deck and guest bedroom. It's just a short walk to the beach and we enjoyed wading through the shallow inlet area looking at small fish and picking up shells and then swimming in the gulf. We had something to do for the whole family, swimming in the gulf, playing in the sand, fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding in the lake, swinging on the porch swing, cooking out, or just relaxing and reading a book. So peaceful to watch the fish jumping in the lake or to just sit on the upper deck and watch the sunrise or the moon/stars at night. The whole stay was very relaxing and fun! This was an experience my family will always remember.
Totally misleading information when renting a condo from these people. We rented a condo off 30A , Gulf Vista Townhomes. After speaking extensively with an Garrett Rental employee, we booked a house under the assumption that the house was beachside , within walking/bike distance of Seaside. However, when we arrived, the condo was not as advertised. You have to cross 30A to get to the beach and we were six miles from Seaside. Use Airbnb and do your own research.
Our experience was less than desirable. We paid a premium for what I thought was an average rental. On the day of check in, we were told everything would be ready by 4PM check in. We were there at 4:15, the rental had not been cleaned. Called the main office and was told they don't guarantee a clean room on check in, really? The attitude of Garrett Realty was, tough luck mister. I must say, this is pathetic. I've traveled extensively both personally and professionally for over 20 years. This is rudest, most ungrateful and arrogant company I have ever experienced on a trip, that says a lot with 20 years of extensive travel. Save yourself and family from the aggravation, disappointment and rudeness you will receive with Garrett Realty Services.
